After Stamboul

This painting is my impressionistic response to René Pésle’s 1923 Stamboul poster. While the original embraces Art Deco’s sharp lines and stylized form, I aimed to reinterpret it with softer brushwork and a more atmospheric feel. Working in acrylic on paper, I let the city’s iconic skyline dissolve into light and memory—less a depiction than a feeling. It’s a tribute to both the romance of early travel posters and the lived texture of Istanbul itself.
