Goldfish sur Seine

I intended this painting as an homage to Matisse's goldfish series, capturing the whimsical yet reflective spirit of my Parisian experience. Initially, I painted the goldfish in a bowl, but later chose to place it on a plate as an ironic nod to Paris as a “moveable feast.” Much of my time in the City of Light was spent exploring the salubrious benefits of cosmic drunkenness and art, influences which seep into the dreamlike quality of the scene. Through the studio window, a muted view of the Seine and an iconic bridge evoke Paris’s timeless elegance, blending nostalgia with a playful, cosmic edge.
