Cihangir Jungle

This piece clawed its way out of a literal fever dream I had in the winter of 2022.
Istanbul, overgrown and wild, swallowed whole by vines and trees that rose up like an angry army after the nuclear fallout had its way with us all. Just nature now, rolling in and taking what always belonged to it. And there, in the middle of this wild, green resurgence, I painted a group of women gathered around a table, sharing a meal, unfazed, almost serene, like they’re the calm at the center of this surreal storm. In the background, you can spot old Galata Tower sitting there in the distance like a middle finger to time itself.
