Bozcaada

I took this on a quiet backroad on Bozcaada, an island in the North Aegean that I have spent a dozen summers (and a few winters) visiting. The lone tree in the middle of the open, grassy field immediately caught my attention, standing as a striking focal point in the landscape. In the foreground, the rustic wooden fences add texture and depth, guiding the eye toward the rolling terrain beyond. On the horizon, the faint outline of hills and a glimpse of the sea create a sense of openness and calm.
 
This tree was near the ruins of an abandoned house that I have since returned to several times to photograph and use as inspiration for my paintings.
